Best Diet For Weight Loss

by Tory McBroom

What’s the best weight loss diet?  The answer may surprise you!

With all the diets out there how does one tell which is the best?  Which diet will help you finally lose weight and keep it off?  It seems like an impossible task to sift through all the diet books and plans on the market today, but surprisingly there is a very simple answer to this age old question.

A study conducted by experts at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston and Louisiana State University revealed that it doesn’t matter what type of diet plan you follow, it all comes down to calories.  It’s possible to lose weight on a variety of diets, including low-carb and low-fat amongst others, but in order to effectively lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you consume.

Common sense right?  You would think so, but diet products have grown into a billion dollar industry with programs and books taking a variety of approaches, from cutting carbs to only eating purple foods (seriously, that’s a diet…), which all promise one thing: weight loss.

So what is the best diet for weight loss?  It, in fact, isn’t a diet at all, but rather learning how to make healthy eating a lifestyle, and not a temporary diet that you will try out for a few months and give up on.  There’s no need for magic pills, or cutting out entire food groups or eating only foods that are purple.  It’s as simple as finding little things to change in your daily diet, things that will work for you, and implementing them.  Overtime they will become a part of your lifestyle and you won’t have to worry about falling off a diet wagon or meticulously counting carbs, fat or calories.

So, what exactly are these changes you need to make to your diet to effectively lose weight?  It’s simple – the changes that WORK for YOU.  To help you get started I have listed a few resources below.  And remember, pick out the weight loss tips that you will easily be able to apply to your daily regimen, ones that you will stick with and implement them slowly.  Small, subtle changes to success.

Good to hear from ya FJ! The word “Diet” definitely has a bad stigma attached to it, but it’s a word with multiple meanings. In fact, what you eat daily is defined as your diet, regardless if you have weight loss/gain goals in mind or not. Good to know that with all the misinformation out there that we are on the same page as far as nutrition goes.

i totally agree with your post. you don’t have to go on with those absurd and fancy diet to lose weight. just estimate the calories that your body need for the day and consume just as much or less. once you lost weight, the hardest part is to maintain it. i have an article on how to maintain weight on my Site
