How To Lose 10 Pounds In A Week

Losing 10 pounds in a week is possible for a lot of people.  Is it as easy as all those “revolutionary” diet plans make it out to be?  Sorry, but the answer is no.  You need to eat 35,000 less calories and/or burn 35,000 calories in a week in order to lose ten pounds.  Sure, you could cut out a bunch of water weight, which is what most Hollywood fad diets and cleanses do, but you start gaining that weight back the second you take a sip of water.

So just how are you going to lose 10lbs this week?  Unless you eat over 5,000 calories a day currently, you aren’t going to lose ten pounds in a week’s time through diet alone.  You will burn roughly 2600 calories if you run a marathon, so if you run two marathon’s a day for seven days you will burn enough calories to lose 10 pounds. Hopefully I’ve opened your eyes a little bit about what it takes to lose 10 pounds.  However, that isn’t to say it’s impossible for everybody to lose 10 pounds in a week’s time.

As I mentioned before, unless you eat more than 5,000 calories a day, losing 10 pound in a week is most likely going to be impossible.  So, if you’re currently 175 pounds, eating 2,500 calories a day and want to drop down to 165 in a week, it’s very unlikely for that happen.  However, if you are a 250 pound individual who is currently eating 5,500 calories every day you could cut your calories down to 1000 per day and run 5 miles a day to lose 10 pounds in a week.  Of course, this wouldn’t be healthy if done for extended periods of time and I would highly recommend having a physician monitor you throughout the process. As you can see it is possible and it’s these types of people that all those diets touting that you can “lose ten pounds in a week” are specifically talking about.  Of course, they don’t mention that in the sales pitch.
