Tired of the same ol’ exercise routine? Spice up your workouts by adding a little fun to them. By making a few simple changes to your routine you can start to look forward to your workouts again instead of dreading them!
Music
Whether you have an Ipod or a rockin’ stereo in your gym, music is not only a great way to get you motivated to work out, but it also helps to keep your mind occupied so you’re not staring at the clock (great for those long cardio days). I personally prefer to listen morning radio shows like The Bob & Tom Show. It doesn’t necessarily pump me up or get my adrenaline going but it’s what I look forward to every morning as I workout.
Reading Material
Magazines, books, even an Amazon Kindle are great for those days on the treadmill or bike. You may even find that you can exercise longer while lost in a good book without even knowing it!
TV
Most gyms these days have multiple TV’s throughout and some treadmills even have them built in. Plan your workout around a specific favorite show on TV, whether it be a half hour or longer. You’ll be more likely to push through it if your mind is kept busy and entertained.
Wii Fit
If you own a Nintendo Wii or have been thinking about buying one, the popular Wii Fit game is a fun way to get some exercise. With the Wii Fit you can take part in 40+ activities the game has to offer, check your daily progress, set goals, and check your Wii Fit age. You can even make it a family affair and get the spouse and kids involved in exercise, as well!
Specialty Exercise Programs
You don’t have to spend countless hours in a gym or on a treadmill to see results. It can be as fun as finding an activity you enjoy doing such as belly dancing, rock climbing or kickboxing just to name a few. You’ll be more apt to stick with an exercise program if it’s something you enjoy doing.
