Do I really need to give up ice cream to lose weight?

Do I really need to give up ice cream to lose weight?

Q: I really want to start dieting, but I absolutely love ice cream.  Do I really need to give up my ice cream to be successful on my diet?

A: Absolutely not.  You can still lose weight and even live a healthy life all while enjoying your ice cream – in moderation of course.  Try to limit yourself to once or twice a week or even try setting weight loss goals and then treating yourself to a bowl of ice cream once you reach them.  And be cautious of what’s in the ice cream you eat.  A small Dairy Queen Hot Fudge malt contains  700 calories compared to a couple scoops of Breyers All natural Chocolate Crackle which has 320 calories.
