Q: My friend eats these Kashi cookies like they are going out of style. She says it’s not a big deal because they are “healthy”. Is there a such thing as a healthy cookie?
A: There are cookies that are healthier than others, but that doesn’t mean you should scarf them down like they are going out of style. Too much of anything can be bad and that certainly applies to cookies, no matter how healthy the product maker claims. Read nutrition labels and ingredient lists to find a healthy option at your local grocery store. Look for cookies made with whole grains and are low in calories and sugar and high in fiber and/or protein. And most importantly, enjoy in moderation.
