Supplements

I’m not a huge fan of taking a bunch of supplements and meal replacements, etc.  Some people have success with slim fast drinks and advocare, for example, but I prefer real foods.  With that being said, I do take a multi-vitamin, fish oil pills and occasionally a little protein powder.  Here’s what I use:

Centrum Performance – I buy this and sometimes when I’m at Sam’s Club I will pick up their generic brand that is the equivelant of this.  You can save some money if you use the Subscribe & Save option through Amazon.com.

Nature Made Fish Oil – I don’t eat a lot of fish…OK, hardly any…so, I take a fish oil supplement by Nature Made to make sure I get my EPA’s and DHA’s (omega 3′s).

Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein – Protein powders have come along way since they first introduced to the market.  Long gone are the days of chalky tasting powders!  I literally can’t believe how good some of the powders taste these days.  My favorite is  by far Optimum Nutrition because of the price as well as the taste.  Check out my Optimum Nutrition whey protein review for a more detailed look at this supplement!

Diet Plans

The Simple, Proven Plan For Weight Loss & Control – Be sure to download my very own strategy that isn’t so much a diet as it is a lifestyle.  Small, simple changes to your lifestyle create lifelong results!  And did I mention it’s FREE!

Burn The Fat by Tom Venuto – If you’ve been to this website before then you’ve probably heard me mention Tom anf his Burn The Fat program.  This happens to be the first book I ever bought on body transformation and I’m glad I did as it changed my life forever.  It also happens to be the best selling ebook in the history of the internet!  Yes, it’s that good!  This is a must read for anybody who’s serious about weight loss.  Do yourself a favor and at least check it out!

The Holy Grail Body Transformation Program – Another program by Tom Venuto but this one focuses on adding muscle while losing fat.  I just downloaded this program as I would like to add some muscle mass, so as soon as I get a good feel for this program I will give you an update.  It looks very promising so far and I have no doubts that it will be great since Tom really knows his stuff.

Exercise Products

I do all of my working out at home or in the streets of my neighborhood so I have lot’s of experience with various pieces of exercise equipment.  Below is pretty much everything I currently use:

Schwin Elliptical Machine – I personally like elliptical trainers better than treadmills. They are low impact so my knees or ankles never hurt when I use them.  This Schwin model is one of the best ellipticals I could find for the money and what sold me on it was the over 450 reviews on Amazon that are almost all 5 stars!

Dumbbells – I workout alone so for safety reasons I don’t do a lot of heavy bench presses with a barbell.  Instead, I almost exclusively use dumbbells for all of my weight training. I just use the standard star lock dumbbells though I am looking to get a set of the PowerBlock Elite 90 Adjustable Dumbbells…as soon as I can get myelf to spend that much money on them! :)

Resistance bands – Another low impact training tool that provides good resistance.  Also, a great way to spice up boring workouts.

Pedometer – A very useful tool for measuring steps taken and calories burned when I’m out walking or running

Bike computer – I love riding my bike for exercise and even with the family.  This is a great tool to measure how far you’ve ridden, calories burned and so on.
