In this edition New York Times bestselling author Lisa lillien has put together 200 recipes under 200 calories. Recipes like:
- Hot Boneless Buffalo Wings
- Sassy Southwestern Roll-Ups
- Cheesy-Good Cornbread Muffins
- Holy Moly Guacamole
- Plus hundreds more!
And this isn’t just your boring ol’ recipe book. If you’ve read any of the Hungry Girl cookbooks before, then you’ll instantly be familiar with Lisa’s bubbly, sometimes sassy personality, which makes the reading that much more fun.
While this book has many great low calorie recipe ideas, in my opinion it really should be taken as just ideas. And what I mean by that is I feel like a lot of the recipes could be altered to be much more healthier and nutritious.
As you scan through the recipes you’ll notice they call for a lot of processed foods, sugar substitutes, etc. In all fairness, Lisa doesn’t claim this to be an ultra “healthy” book, but rather she concentrates on calories. With that said, you could easily make some simple substitutions to make the recipes healthier, low calorie and still taste delicious.
This popular book is definitely worth a read if not only for the great recipe ideas.
