In the low calorie beer wars, Miller Genuine Draft has come out with their lowest calorie version called MGD 64, which as the name suggests, has only 64 calories.
It is what you’d expect from an ultra low calorie beer – a little watered down with a minimal alcohol content – just 3%.
Of course, that’s to be expected, as the caloric makeup of beer comes from the alcohol, so less calories, in most cases, means less alcohol and beer taste.
If you drink to catch a buzz, then this beer might not help you save any calories, as you will just be drinking more of them.
However, if you just want to to have a few beers with friends without the added calories then this might be a good alternative.
Personally, I would rather enjoy a delicious craft beer than pound down a few ultra-light beers.
How does MGD 64 compare to other alcoholic drinks:
Budweiser Select 55 – 55 calories
Coors Light – 102 calories
Miller Lite – 96 calories
White Wine (4.1 oz) – 113 calories
Margarita (3.3 oz) – 153 calories
Martini (2.2 oz) – 135 calories
