The reason for this is because you can’t spot reduce fat in your body. Simply put, if you reduce overall body fat, you will lose belly fat, so it’s important to focus on exercises that burn the most calories.
Secondly, take a close look at your diet. You might want to try cutting out a few calories for a few weeks and see if that helps give you the results you are looking for.
